Meet the Cast

From disciplined, tough high school basketball coach, Charlie, to his decidedly bookish and un-athletic son, Evan, to his artsy, musician grandson, Markie, get to know the characters you’ll meet at the meet at the rustic cabin at Heritage Falls.

Coach Charlie Fitzpatrick
(David Keith)

A military academy graduate, Coach Charlie is as tough on himself as he is on his players. He gets the best out of his team members by teaching them discipline, respect, self-worth and risk-taking, challenging them to complete his military-style obstacle course as part of their training. His techniques have proven effective as his teams have won several championships. He’s most at home on the court, but when it comes to his family, he struggles to connect with his grown son, Evan. Now retired, Charlie hopes to repair that strained relationship.

Charles “Evan” Fitzpatrick Jr
(Coby Ryan McLaughlin)

Evan could not be more opposite his straitlaced father. He is a writer at heart, in spite of the fact that his novel never saw the light of day, and he’s given up even trying to write. Books are still his life, though. He owns The Southern Scribes Used Bookstore. He is somewhat shy, non-confrontational and unlike his father who has a “Go get ‘em,” winning, optimistic attitude, Evan definitely sees the glass as half-empty.

.

Mark “Markie” Fitzpatrick
(Keean Johnson)

Markie may have an artistic bent and sharp wit, but his similarity to his father, Evan ends there. Markie, home from school, lays a bombshell on his parents. He’s dropped out of college to take his folk band on the road. Evan is mortified. Markie has big dreams and he’s anxious to fulfill them. He has the drive of his grandfather, Charlie, and the creativity of his father—and he has a lot to teach the older men.

Laura Fitzpatrick
(Nancy Stafford)

Laura is Coach Charlie’s wife, the peacekeeper and rock of the family. She is a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and she has a valuable gift: she knows how to balance the different personalities in her family.

.

Heather Fitzpatrick
(Sydney Penny)

Heather is married to Evan and she co-owns the bookstore with him. She is Markie’s understanding and loving mother. As Evan’s best friend and confidant, she loves and supports her husband, but knows the times when he needs a little push (or a big one!)—and is not afraid to act on it.

Harriet “Harvey” Fitzpatrick
(Devon Ogden)

Harvey is all tomboy, but still a prom queen. Before she graduated, she was a high school championship basketball player under her father’s coaching. She’s the “son” Coach Charlie always wanted. She’s the “cool Aunt” to Markie and a loving sister to Evan despite their differences.

Principal Allen
(T. C. Stallings)

When he was a student, Principal Allen was a player on Coach Charlie’s team—the scrawny scrappy point guard nicknamed Jumbo. He was Charlie’s hardest working player. Now he is his boss and friend.
